About Keiichi Takasawa (1914 - 1984)
Keiichi Takasawa was born in Gunma Prefecture in 1914, and attended Nihon University. He later studied with Tsuguharu Fujita who was a strong influence on his work. During WWII Keiichi was a war correspondent, and during the post-war period he made illustrations and covers for women's magazines, LP covers, and various other commercial projects. His bijin-ga prints always depicted the stylized, slender, and Western-appearing woman of this print, in various poses.
