1929, published by Kawaguchi, first edition with #107 of an edition of 200 limitation seal on verso. Printed from 14 blocks cut by C. Ito. Signature “Kotondo Ga” and seal at right center in the image along with the date of Showa 4 years 10 months. (Showa Yo Nen Ju Gatsu). Title blind stamped in the lower center margin. Embossed publishers seal on lower left margin. Paper limitation label on the reverse with the print number, tied to the print with a red stamp.
approx. 16.125" x 10.25" (image area); sheet size - 18” x 11.75”
Condition: VG, Minor soiling on the sheet margins, minor margin crease across lower right corner not affecting the image area. Within the image there is a tight printing crease on the lower left hand sleeve in the green. There are pencil notes as to title and date on the lower reverse side sheet margin plus an ink stamp “Made in Japan”. The colors are very good with subtle pink flesh tones in the face. Not matted or mounted.
Impression: Fine, solid key lines, tight registration, and good surface texture
Color: Fine, deep saturated color with bleed through to verso
